The Ocean Inside - Janna McMahan

This book is supposed to be how a family, whose youngest child gets cancer, deals with an insurance company that is denying coverage. All I can say is that this book is about a whole lot of nothing. This is mainly about the family's life, their struggles dealing with their financial difficulties and the mother and father's lack of trust and communication. It made for a boring read. I wish I could have been more sympathetic, but the cancer story line was like a side note that was mentioned occasionally. The references regarding the medical insurance didn't really come around until near the end of the story. The oldest daughter is basically being ignored and was involved in questionable activities, with her boyfriend, that

involved the death of a friend's cousin

(show spoiler)

To protect herself, she keeps silent. It was just a mess.
