4.5 starsThis book was surprisingly good. I really liked Sophie. Though she grew up sheltered, she was able to realize her potential to rescue her daughter. I thought Kane was a pretty good hero and a perfect match for Sophie. The side story dealing with the war and the emperor was very intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read the next book in this trilogy.
