It's hard for me to put into words how much I was riveted by this book. Elle suffered some horrific things during her teen years and she did the best she could dealing with it. Her decisions weren't always sound, but when she realized things were bad, she shifted on a whole other spectrum, keeping people and emotions away.

All that changes when she meets Dan. Dan is an enigma to her and she can't understand what draws her to him continually. Her hard & fast rules are falling by the wayside, making her panic and she tries to push him away. Apparently, Dan sees something in her and keeps at her, without really pressuring her. 

I really enjoyed her friendship with Marcy. It was cute, funny and Marcy kicked her in the butt when it was needed.

I know this is labeled an erotic romance and there is one menage scene, but it didn't read very erotic to me. The sex scenes were hot, but were peppered with things from Elle's past. This story was more of Elle's revelations regarding life, family and love and it was a pleasure to read, even though some of the subject matter was quite dark.
